There is continued demand for hangar sites and sites for other aviation-related development, but we have no more vacant property on the existing airfield. These engineering services NTE $1,936,346 will include: the preparation of an Environmental Assessment as required by the Federal Aviation Administration for the development of the vacant property north of the terminal; and for the preparation of construction plans, specifications, reports, permitting, and related services for the construction of the Relocation of Gulfstream Road (with tunnel), Taxiway H, the northern extension of Taxiway A, and the construction of a new airfield electrical vault. Bid, award and construction phase services will be performed under a future authorization. 6. Approve Purchase of Wetlands Mitigation Credits for the North GA Development Area Project. Construction in the North General Aviation (GA) Development Area will require the filling of approximately 40 acres of wetlands per EPA regulations. To get a permit to fill wetlands requires mitigation for the filling by preserving/enhancing/creating wetlands on-site or buying and preserving off-site wetlands from an approved Mitigation Bank, this project will require 33 credits. The credits have been bid and will open on February 2. The low bidder and the bid will be announced at Wednesday’s meeting. 7. Execute Space Lease with United States Marine Corps. The Commission signed a lease agreement (in 2005) with the U.S. Marine Corps to furnish them with approximately 276 sf of space to be used as a Recruit Reception Center administrative office space, and to allow them joint use of the 943 sf break room on Level #2 as a collection point for the Marines. The original agreement was for five years, ending in January 2010. This agreement is an extension of the original agreement, with a new termination date of January 2, 2015.
