Savannah Foreign Trade Zone 104

The Savannah Airport Commission is the Grantee for FTZ 104. The Zone has recently transitioned to Alternative Site Framework (ASF) so that the needs of the business community can be met on a more timely basis.

Foreign Trade Zones are specially designated areas where foreign merchandise can be placed in a duty and tax free environment until it is ready to enter the commerce of the United States. Raw materials or goods can be imported into a zone to produce goods that are duty-free or have a lower duty rate. The basic purpose of the Zone program is to encourage international commerce and provide jobs for Americans. Companies from around the world locate in the U.S. in a commercially friendly environment. In many cases the Zone program enables companies to compete on an international level.

Active Zone projects in FTZ 104 include:

FTZ 104 Warehouse at the Savannah Airport, Bays 11 & 12 in the Air Cargo Bldg. (Site 1)

Nustar Energy (Zone 104-C) Asphalt refining from crude oil stocks.

Tumi Luggage (Zone 104-D) Manufacturing and repair of high end luggage and accessories.

Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas, Inc (Zone 104 E) (Site 12) Manufacturer of power generating equipment.

Savannah Warehouse Services (Site 9)-A General Purpose warehouse providing 184,000 sq. ft. of FTZ space.

Ocean Terminal at Georgia Ports Authority (Site 2), For break-bulk and heavy-lift cargo.

Garden City Terminal at Georgia Ports Authority (Site 15) For containerized cargo.
